Agnus Dei, from AMASS

Instrumentation/Voicing:
SATB choir, piano four hands

This “Agnus Dei” from Hagen's larger work, AMASS, was originally composed for an ensemble of 5 cellos and vibraphone. This 4-hand piano reduction allows the entire missa brevis of AMASS to be performed without the entire instrumental ensemble. The melody is constructed on an invented mode, bittersweet because of its combined elements of the major and minor scales.
